As part of our commitment to social responsibility and sustainability, Unipartner supported and collaborated with an association that focuses on the social reintegration of prisoners and former ones, named Dar a Mão , and donated computers to help improve their efforts.
Did you know that 10% of the individuals currently imprisoned do not have a driver’s license? This is a significant barrier to achieving independence and securing stable employment after release.
To address this and with the primary goal of reducing the tendency of convicted criminals to relapse into crime, one of their projects relies on collaboration with the Automobile Club of Portugal (ACP - Automóvel Club de Portugal) and the Lisbon Prison Facility, helping individuals convicted of driving without a license. These computers will be used to provide theoretical driving lessons within the prison system, allowing prisoners to prepare for official exams.
This initiative helps break the cycle and supports their reintegration into society. By donating this equipment, we are also extending their life and reducing electronic waste, aligning with our commitment to the circular economy. ♻️
Unipartner would like to extend its gratitude to Dr. José Goamon for his dedication as a volunteer over the past decade and for his leadership, which has been instrumental in driving this initiative forward. His commitment to supporting those in need is truly inspiring, and we are honored to support his efforts. The new equipment will now replace outdated systems, ensuring continued progress and a tribute to his enduring impact.
We are proud of this partnership and look forward to continuing our collaborative initiatives to make a positive impact in our community. 🤝
